About This Role

We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead and grow the sales organization at our Kansas City headquarters. This is a player-coach role - you will drive gross profit through your own book of business while building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing sales team. This position requires someone who has led sales teams in the domestic 3PL space and understands the nuances of brokerage, managed transportation, and logistics sales cycles. RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives to exceed revenue and gross profit targets - Maintain and grow a personal book of business, actively prospecting and closing new accounts - Set sales strategy, quotas, and KPIs aligned with company growth objectives - Own the sales pipeline - forecast accurately, identify gaps, and drive accountability across the team - Recruit, hire, and onboard new sales talent as the team scales - Collaborate with operations and carrier teams to ensure service excellence and customer retention - Report on team performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to executive leadership REQUIREMENTS - 5+ years of sales leadership experience in domestic 3PL, freight brokerage, or managed transportation (required) - Proven track record of building and scaling sales teams while carrying personal revenue targets - Deep understanding of domestic freight markets, shipper relationships, and 3PL service models - Experience managing P&L at a team or branch level - Strong coaching and mentorship skills with a hands-on leadership style - Must be based in Kansas City, MO - this is an on-site leadership role COMPENSATION - Base salary: $90,000 - $150,000 depending on experience - Commission and bonus structure on top of base - Full benefits package - Opportunity to shape and lead a growing sales organization
