About This Role
Independent freight agency ownership opportunity in Canada. This is a 1099 / independent contractor engagement — NOT a W-2 sales role.
The ideal candidate is an experienced freight broker or agency owner who wants to run their own book of business under an established parent company's infrastructure. You keep equity in what you build while accessing:
• A fully licensed authority and bond
• Back-office support (carrier vetting, billing, collections, claims, factoring)
• Access to a deep carrier network
• Proprietary TMS and rate tools
• Credit line to underwrite your shippers
• Branding and marketing resources
Structure
• 1099 engagement — you are an independent business owner
• Commission-based compensation (agent split against gross profit)
• You own your book; portable equity in the business you build
• Full-time or equivalent production expected; this is not a side hustle
Who this is for
• Experienced freight sales / brokerage professionals with an active, portable book of business
• Entrepreneurs who want to run their own desk without building back-office infrastructure from scratch
• Candidates ready to be evaluated as independent business owners, not W-2 employees
Requirements
• Provable portable book — active shippers you can bring on day one
• Clear of any enforceable non-compete / non-solicit from prior employer
• Self-sufficient desk-running history: carrier sourcing, pricing, collections, claims
• Comfortable operating as a 1099 contractor (taxes, structure, liability)
Geography: Canada (any province). Remote-first, with periodic travel as your book requires.
