Senior International Freight Sales — Player/Coach (Allen, TX)
Confidential - Freight Forwarding Company
Allen, TX (HQ — weekly Mondays in-office) | $85,000 - $120,000+
About This Role
# Senior International Freight Sales — Player/Coach (Allen, TX)
**Compensation:** Base **$85,000–$120,000+** (open for the right senior operator) + uncapped commission. Target post-ramp: **3× base** OTE band, no cap. **One opening.**
**Location:** **Allen, TX** (HQ — weekly in-office on Mondays required).
A 100+ person, full-service international freight forwarder — FMC / MC / IATA licensed, moving 100K+ TEUs annually with offices across the U.S. plus international footprint in India and Vietnam — is scaling its U.S. sales team and hiring a senior international freight sales hire to **carry their own book AND mentor / lead** a growing team of hunter reps based out of HQ.
This is a player/coach seat — you sell, you carry a number, AND you bring junior and mid-level hunters up the curve. If you are a top international freight forwarder seller who has outgrown an IC seat and wants leadership upside without losing your bag, this is the role.
## What you will do
- Carry your own international freight forwarding book (ocean + air; FAK and/or exempt scrap)
- Mentor, coach, and shape the broader hunter sales team based out of HQ
- Help hire, ramp, and develop additional reps as the team scales
- Partner with leadership on territory design, sales process, and book-of-business strategy
- Be visible at HQ — Mondays in-office for in-house meetings is the floor; many days more
## What we are looking for
- **5+ years international freight forwarding sales** as a top-quartile producer — ocean **and** air, with domestic end-to-end exposure
- **Sales leadership experience** — direct mentorship, team ramping, hiring, or formal player/coach time
- Hunter DNA — you have owned a number and crushed it, repeatedly
- Comfortable in Allen, TX in-office Mondays minimum (relo or already-local strongly preferred)
- FAK and/or exempt scrap background a strong plus
## Why this role
- Genuine player/coach seat — not a "manager who lost their book" desk job
- Uncapped commission on your personal production
- Real influence on hiring, process, and territory as the team grows
- Direct, low-bureaucracy operating culture
## Not a fit
- Pure people-managers without a current book of business
- BD / farmer / customer-success leaders without hunter pedigree
- Sellers unable or unwilling to be in Allen on Mondays
