About the Role
We're hiring a Carrier Sales Representative for a growing domestic 3PL. You'll source, qualify, and book carriers to cover customer freight across full-truckload, LTL, intermodal, and reefer lanes — all domestic surface, no international or customs work. Hunter mentality required: you're building and leveraging a carrier rolodex, not waiting for inbound. Remote W2 role.
What You'll Do
- Source and onboard new carriers through outbound prospecting (DAT, Truckstop, cold calls, referrals)
- Negotiate rates on spot loads and build repeat-lane relationships with reliable carriers
- Cover assigned customer freight on time and at margin
- Vet carriers for compliance, safety, and double-broker risk before dispatching
- Track loads in transit and intervene quickly when issues surface
- Partner with account managers to win new business by offering competitive coverage
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of carrier sales, freight brokerage, or transportation experience
- Track record of building carrier relationships in a high-volume environment
- Hunter mindset — comfortable making 50+ outbound dials a day to fill capacity
- Familiarity with load boards (DAT, Truckstop) and basic TMS workflow
- Negotiation skills with the discipline to protect margin
- Self-directed, goal-oriented, thrives without micro-management
Compensation
- $32,000 base salary
- 7.5% commission on covered loads, uncapped — strong producers clear six figures
