About This Role
# Carrier Sales Representative — Build Capacity, Build Relationships
## About the role
A growing white-glove, temp-controlled, and specialty freight brokerage is hiring Carrier Sales Representatives to build and own a personal book of carrier relationships. This is **not** a load-poster role. We don't want someone whose day is spent dropping freight on DAT and waiting for callbacks. We want a rep who picks up the phone, finds the right carrier before the freight needs to move, and earns repeat capacity by being the easiest broker in the carrier's address book.
## What you'll own
- **Build a personal carrier book.** Cold-call carriers, qualify them, onboard them through compliance, and earn their repeat business across white-glove, temp-controlled, FTL/LTL, PTL, flatbed, and specialty equipment.
- **Cover loads with the right carrier — not just the cheapest.** Match shipments to vetted carriers based on lane, equipment, service record, and rate. Protect margin without burning the relationship.
- **Stay on the phone.** This role is high-volume, high-touch. You're calling carriers, negotiating rates, confirming pickups, troubleshooting in-transit issues, and following up after delivery.
- **Partner with the customer side.** Work directly with freight sales and ops to forecast capacity needs, flag service risks early, and feed back-channel intel on carrier reliability into pricing decisions.
- **Build a reputation in the carrier community.** Be the broker carriers actually want to call back — relationship-first, no games, paid quickly, fair rates.
## What we're looking for
- 1–3+ years in carrier sales / brokerage operations (W-2 carrier rep, dispatcher with sales chops, or freight ops with carrier-facing exposure)
- Track record of building and retaining a personal carrier book — named carriers, repeat lanes, capacity you can stand on
- Comfort across the freight stack: dry van, reefer, flatbed, partials, white-glove final mile, specialty equipment
- Smart on rates — knows the load board number, knows the carrier's number, and can find the deal in the middle
- Proficient with TMS / load board / CRM tooling (Aljex, McLeod, Tai, DAT, Truckstop, etc.) without being dependent on them
- High-output, phone-first, and energized by relationship-building — not someone looking for a desk job
## Why this role is different
- **Player coach above you, not gatekeeper.** Carrier Sales Manager is hands-on with the team and personally on the phone. You'll get real coaching and direct exposure to senior carrier strategy from day one.
- **Quality over volume.** The brokerage's reputation is built on white-glove service and relationship-first carrier management. You'll never be asked to chase the cheapest cover at the expense of service.
- **Real upside as you grow your book.** Compensation scales directly with your carrier portfolio — the more capacity you bring repeatable, the more you earn.
## Compensation
Competitive base salary plus carrier-margin commission. Total on-target earnings range: **$50,000 – $95,000+** depending on experience and book of carriers transferable on day one. Health benefits, remote flexibility, real seat at the table.
